The 27-year-old has reached personal terms with Leeds United following the activation of a clause by Newcastle United. Leeds have maintained an ongoing interest in the 27-year-old midfielder, as was previously disclosed, and Newcastle are amenable to selling him for an appropriate price.
Newcastle terminated Longstaff’s contract next summer after the club implemented a one-year extension clause during the 2024/25 season. The Newcastle academy graduate has not appeared in a single Premier League match since that time, as he was displaced from the midfield pecking order by players such as Joe Willock and Lewis Miley.
