The 2024/2025 Premier League standings have been finalised, and Manchester United and Manchester City have gained clarity regarding their prize money.

The Premier League season has concluded, and all 20 clubs are prepared to receive their annual prize money distribution. Last term, they received £2.84 billion from the division and received six distributions through their central revenue system.

The league explains that this “ensures the most equitable distribution of funds of any major European league,” ensuring that each club receives over £100 million. The earnings will be dominated by Liverpool, who secured the title during Arne Slot’s inaugural season as manager of an English club.

Last season’s conquerors, Manchester City, received a total of £175.9million, while Arsenal, who finished in second place, received £175.5million. The previous season, all competitors received an equal share of domestic and international broadcast rights, which totalled £86.9 million.

Moreover, the central commercial revenues of the league generated £8.2 million for each team. Facility fees were associated with the frequency of televised matches per club, and merit payments were distributed according to final standings.

Last year, City emerged as champions in terms of merit payments, receiving £56.4 million. Arsenal, despite finishing as the runner-up, was the most televised squad and generated an additional £26.9 million, according to reports from The Mirror.

Last season, Sheffield United, which was situated at the bottom of the table, received a baseline merit payment of £2.8 million. The sums are scaled in a manner that ensures the champions receive 20 times the basic rate, while the second-place finisher receives 19 times the basic rate. The scale is descending.

The final total will not be certified until the league releases its annual report, which will provide a detailed breakdown of the earnings of each club. However, it is anticipated that these figures will remain relatively consistent throughout the current season.

The 20 clubs of the Premier League generated over £6 billion in revenue for the first time ever during the 2022/2023 campaign, according to Deloitte’s most recent annual review of football financing. This makes the Premier League the wealthiest football enterprise in the world.

The following is a summary of the compensation that each Premier League club should receive in accordance with their final standing:

1st (Liverpool) – £56.4m.

2nd (Arsenal) – £53.5m.

Third (Manchester City) – £50.7m.

13th (Everton) – £22.5 million.

14th (West Ham) – £19.7m.

15th (Manchester United) – £16.9m.
