The Celtic incentive payment for Champions League progression has been announced.
The incentive payment for Celtic’s Champions League progression has been disclosed.
Brendan Rodgers’ team has qualified for the next stage of the competition with only one matchday remaining, which will be against Aston Villa next week. Furthermore, the club has assured that they will receive an additional €1 million as a consequence of reaching the quarterfinal play-off round.
The seven-figure incentive payment is awarded to all clubs that advance. Subsequently, Celtic will receive an additional minimum guaranteed payment of €3.58m through the league phase ranking payments.A minimum of €275k is awarded to each club during the league phase, and this amount is multiplied by the number of positions they achieve in the table.
Currently, Celtic would receive €5.2 million if they were to finish in 18th place, and €3.58 million if they were to finish in 24th place. The guaranteed €1m progression payment would be supplemented by both levies.Celtic Champions League progression bonus qualification for the quarterfinal round play-offs: €1 million Celtic will receive a €5.2 million league ranking bonus if they maintain their existing 18th-place finish.
Minimum Guaranteed Bonus: €4.6 million (conditional upon Celtic’s 24th-place finish) Celtic Champions League prize money League phase participation – €18.62m (€17.87m down payment and €750k balance). Performance bonuses: €2.1 million for each victory and €700,000 for each stalemate. Bonus for league classification – Each club will receive a minimum of €275k for their league phase campaign. An additional €275k will be added to the bonus for each position above 36th.
Moreover, the clubs that are ranked 1-8 at the conclusion of the league phase will receive an additional €2m, while the clubs that are ranked 9th to 16th will receive €1m. Progression incentives – €1 million per club for qualification to the knockout round play-offs −
€11 million per club for qualification to the round of 16 – €12.5 million per club for qualification to the quarter-finals − €15 million per club for semi-final qualification − each clubs’ qualification for the final: €18.5 million – an additional €6.5 million is awarded to the competition champions.
