SAOT has been implemented in UEFA competitions since its introduction at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and it was anticipated that the Premier League would follow suit. They have recently released an update on the functionality of SAOT and the outcomes that supporters can anticipate when the technology is implemented to make a decision, whether in stadiums or on television. The FA provided an explanation of the operation of SAOT,

 

 

 

disclosing that each stadium has been equipped with new cameras to facilitate the technology’s operation: The system employs up to 30 newly installed cameras that are positioned throughout Premier League stadiums. Several of these cameras are capable of capturing footage at a rate of 100 frames per second, which is twice the frame rate of typical broadcast cameras.
