Manchester City
The hidden reason why 24-year-old forward Phil Foden was absent for the Manchester City squad vs. Ipswich Town match on Saturday (4-1)
Manchester City’s Premier League team that plays Ipswich at the Etihad Stadium does not have Phil Foden on it.
The first home game of the season for Manchester City is against Ipswich in the Premier League. Phil Foden is not on the team.
Foden played in the second half of last week’s win at Chelsea in place of Savinho, who was hurt but will be able to play against Ipswich. However, the PFA Player of the Year winner is not in the first home team of the season.
Rodri is not there as planned because he has not yet started training again this summer. However, Ilkay Gundogan is back for City after making a huge deal to sign again this week.
Foden’s official absence was due to illness, which eased concerns about any further injuries. Gundogan took his place on the bench. Even though Savinho got hurt at Stamford Bridge, he is healthy enough to play. Pep Guardiola started the same team that played against Chelsea in the first game.
Rodri is once again not available, so Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva will continue to play together in the defensive middle. There are three right backs in the team, and Issa Kabore is one of them. Rico Lewis stays on ahead of captain Kyle Walker after a great game at Chelsea.
