The KMI commission has reached a majority decision regarding the disallowed Celtic goal scored by Daizen Maeda against Hibs.

The KMI commission of the SFA has determined that the second goal scored by Celtic against Hibs on Saturday should not have been disallowed by VAR. The Premiership contest was won by Hibs at Easter Road by a score of 2-1,

while Celtic’s performance was subpar, resulting in their second division loss of the season. Josh Campbell’s double provided the Bhoys with a formidable challenge in the second half, as the host team surged to a 2-0 lead. Daizen Maeda scored a goal for Celtic in the 68th minute, and he then celebrated by rotating away after converting what appeared to be the final goal of the match.

Alistair Johnston extended his arm to propel the ball into the box for Maeda, and the television cameras revealed that the decision was exceedingly close. However, the available angles were insufficient to establish conclusively that the entire ball was over the line; however, VAR determined that it was.

One member of the commission believed that VAR was justified in intervening, as they believed that one of the angles indicated that the ball was out of play. Callum McGregor was taken aback by the decision to not score.

Alan Muir’s decision to reverse the goal left Rodgers perplexed and incensed, and the same could be said for captain Callum McGregor. McGregor was not at his best against Hibs, but he was in top form during his post-match interview, where he criticised the “big call” and emphasised that errors are inevitable.

“We have examined all of the perspectives, and based on our observations, it is a significant decision to reverse the on-field decision of the referee and the linesman.” “Indeed, the bench was certain that it was a goal.” That is a component of the game. It is necessary to acknowledge and move forward with the fact that individuals make errors.
