Celtic will face Rangers in the semi-finals after defeating Partick Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup.
In the quarter-final, Brendan Rodgers’ team emerged victorious with a score of 4-0 at Firhill.
Rodgers rotated some of his squad, but Sebastian Tounekti was the standout player, as he once again captivated Celtic supporters with a man of the match performance.
The Hoops will now compete in a Glasgow derby in the semi-final at Hampden Park. However, the allocations of both fanbases will be reduced.
Celtic and Rangers will receive 500 fewer tickets for the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup.
Just under 52,000 spectators can be accommodated at Hampden Park; however, the semi-final will have an attendance of just over 50,000.
The reason for this is a sanction imposed by the SPFL, which penalised both teams for the use of pyrotechnics in the semi-finals of the same competition last year.
What is the date of the Celtic vs Rangers Premier Sports Cup semi-final?
Celtic is now aware of the date on which they will face Russell Martin’s team, as the semi-final draw has been finalised.
The contest is scheduled to take place on the weekend of November 1st and 2nd at Hampden. The victorious team will advance to the final, where they will face either Motherwell or St Mirren.
This semi-final is a rematch of the final from the previous year, which the Hoops secured via penalties.
