The Manchester United duo may be unable to attend the Arsenal match as a result of the Premier League’sArsenal will be hosting Manchester United on December 4, but a few Red Devils players are hovering on the brink of suspension.
Two Manchester United players are mere bookings away from a one-game suspension, which could result in their absence from the upcoming match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next month. In a midweek kick-off on December 4, the Arsenal will host their Premier League rivals.
Before that match, both teams have two games remaining. Mikel Arteta’s team will face Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, while the Old Trafford team will face Ipswich Town and Everton before travelling to North London.
Kobie and Lisandro Martinez, who have already received four yellow cards this season, are at risk of receiving a one-game exile.
A caution against Everton will result in their suspension being served for the encounter against Arteta’s side, but they will be able to return in time to face the Gunners if either of them is booked against Ipswich.
After Martinez was sent home from international duty with Argentina due to back pain, his national manager Lionel Scaloni disclosed that the defender was experiencing, the duo are both nursing knocks and may not face Ipswich this weekend.
In the interim, Mainoo has not appeared since sustaining a muscle injury in a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in October. The midfielder was making progress in his recovery, according to caretaker United manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, prior to the international break.
Additionally, Kobbie is making progress in his recovery; however, he has not yet rejoined the team. Van Nistelrooy stated, “That necessitates a little more time,” in reference to Mainoo’s status prior to the international fixtures.
According to Premier League suspension regulations, players who accrue five yellow cards prior to match week 19 will be subject to a one-game suspension.
A two-match suspension will be imposed if 10 yellow cards are collected prior to game-week 32. The suspension for five or ten yellow cards is exclusive to the Premier League and is not applicable to the FA Cup or League Cup.
Arsenal has experienced some disciplinary suspensions this season; however, they have arisen as a result of red cards, as Declan Rice and William Saliba were dismissed this season.
There is no imminent risk of bans for any of the Gunners’ stars, as Gabriel Jesus and Jurrien Timber have each received three cautions, a number that no other Arsenal player has achieved.
