The most recent transfer rumours from St James Park pertain to Newcastle United’s pursuit of a Dutch midfielder who is highly regarded.Newcastle United is purportedly keeping an eye on the advancement of Kenneth Taylor, a midfielder from the Netherlands, who is currently playing for Ajax.
Taylor, who is also a product of the renowned Ajax academy, made his debut in the senior team in the latter months of 2020 and gradually solidified his status as one of the most promising prospects in Dutch football.
Taylor declared that he was “out of the question” of departing the Dutch giants, despite receiving interest from other teams, and immediately set his sights on becoming a regular in the Ajax side after his progression was recognised with a new contract in 2022.
He stated on the club website, “The ideal scenario for me is to be a starter for Ajax next season.” That is the most important thing to me; it would be the most beneficial next step in my personal growth. I will be required to demonstrate it independently, with the assistance of Alfred Schreuder, my new trainer.
I am responsible for demonstrating it, and that is my primary objective. I am unable to leave as long as I maintain my perspective. That is self-evident. Although Club Brugge has recently expressed interest in me, I am determined to establish myself as a standard player at Ajax. Additionally, I possess an abundance of assurance regarding that matter.
Taylor has rapidly established himself as a critical member of the Ajax team, having made 91 appearances over the past two seasons and remaining true to his word. He has participated in all 21 of his team’s competitive matches thus far this season, netting six goals and providing four assists.
His team is currently pursuing the current Eredivisie leaders, PSV Eindhoven, and is attempting to advance to the Europa League after winning three of their four league phase matches.Nevertheless, Newcastle is one of four clubs that are “monitoring Taylor’s development” as he continues to impress for both his club and country.
This was noted by CaughtOffside. The 22-year-old midfielder is rumoured to have been observed by the Magpies on numerous occasions. However, they would be up against competition from Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Napoli if they were to pursue his services.
During the summer, the latter of the triumvirate reportedly regarded Taylor as a more affordable alternative to Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who declined a transfer to Liverpool.
