Frank Ragnow, the Detroit Lions’ famous center, announced his retirement on Monday, citing that his body was not performing as he had hoped this spring.
Ragnow, who was drafted out of Arkansas in 2018 and has since made four Pro Bowl appearances with Detroit, will depart for retirement, leaving a significant void in the middle of the line. He has battled ailments for several years.
On Monday, Lions insider Nolan Bianchi disclosed the most recent information regarding Detroit’s prospective replacement for Ragnow by sharing remarks from offensive line coach Hank Fraley.

Asked whether the Lions’ organization was aware of Ragnow’s imminent departure from the team as a result of his injuries, Bianchi responded on Monday.
“I would anticipate that they have been aware of his contemplation of the matter for some time,” Bianchi stated.
“I believe Campbell has a fairly accurate understanding of the experiences he has undergone, and I suspect that they have frequently assessed his mental state.”
Detroit must expedite the maturation of Ratledge, who was selected with the 57th overall selection, in order to sustain its offensive line’s success.
