The real reason behind Bojan Miovski’s poor form at Rangers after his summer move

Rangers’ lack of squad reinforcement during the summer transfer window appears to be catching up with them, as Bojan Miovski continues to struggle since his arrival.

The Gers spent £2.6 million, excluding potential add-ons, to bring the North Macedonian striker from Girona, but the move hasn’t paid off so far. Miovski has yet to prove himself as a reliable goalscorer at Ibrox, sparking doubts over his ability to adapt to life with the Light Blues.

The real reason behind Bojan Miovski’s poor form at Rangers after his summer move

Manager Danny Rohl has managed to get the best out of Youssef Chermiti since replacing Russell Martin, leaving former Aberdeen star Miovski fighting to keep his place in the starting XI.

Football pundit Gordon Dalziel believes the reason behind Miovski’s poor form is straightforward — his playing style simply doesn’t fit Rangers’ system. According to Dalziel, the 26-year-old thrives on running in behind defences, something the Ibrox side rarely do.

“He was outstanding at Aberdeen doing that — pressing centre-backs and exploiting space,” Dalziel said. “But Rangers don’t play that way. He’s not a link-up striker.”

Danilo’s resurgence under Rohl has added further pressure on Miovski, who now faces even more competition up front.

With the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Celtic looming, Rohl faces a selection dilemma. Even if Chermiti is rested, Miovski may not automatically reclaim a starting spot, with Danilo, Djeidi Gassama, and Mikey Moore all in contention should Rohl revert to a 4-2-3-1 setup.
