The secret discussion Antony and Diogo Dalot had before Manchester United vs Liverpool FA CUP quarter final match that ensure their win has been revealed
Man United beat Liverpool 4–3 in the FA Cup quarterfinals last weekend, and Antony scored in the game.
Antony has thanked Diogo Dalot, a friend at Manchester United, for his support. He also told Dalot before last weekend’s FA Cup quarterfinal win over Liverpool that he was going to score.
The Brazilian scored his first Old Trafford goal in more than a year after coming off the bench after 71 minutes to replace Rasmus Hojlund. The goal made it 2-2 and sent the game to extra time. As he got close to the penalty area, he quickly turned and shot with his weaker right foot.
United won the game in extra time, with goals from Amad and Marcus Rashford that made it 3-3. They will now play Coventry City in the last four next month at Wembley.
Antony hasn’t given up on his dream of making it in England, even though he hasn’t been able to make an effect at Old Trafford since he moved there from Ajax in September 2022. Dalot has been very important in keeping him positive, and he has said that he is “more than a friend.”
The United club website quotes Antony as saying, “I’m very thankful to God and a friend I talk to a lot.” He’s more than just a friend to me; he helps me out at the club every day.
“The patient guy can’t be beat,” is something we always say to each other. It’s something we always talk about. For that reason, I’m thankful for his wisdom and the time we spent talking. He has been very helpful to me.
“I told Diogo before the game that I felt different.” I had a good feeling. I thought I was going to score today, which makes me very happy.
“As I already said, Dalot is my best friend here at the club. We talk to him all the time, and he always gives me advice. His way of thinking is unusual.
