John Beaton appointed referee for Celtic vs Motherwell clash
Celtic’s key Premiership encounter with Motherwell will be overseen by referee John Beaton. The Hoops return to league action after securing a place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals thanks to a dramatic penalty-shootout victory over Rangers.
Beaton will be supported on the touchlines by assistant referees Graeme Stewart and Calum Spence. Meanwhile, Kevin Clancy will take charge of VAR duties, with assistance from Gary Hilland.
The match sees Celtic welcome fourth-placed Motherwell on Saturday at 3pm in the Scottish Premiership.
A victory for Celtic would move them within two points of Heart of Midlothian in the title standings. Hearts face their own challenge later on Saturday evening when they travel to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Should Celtic secure all three points against Motherwell, it would pile additional pressure on Hearts as the Premiership title race continues to intensify.
