The amusing narrative of how Amon-Ra St. Brown inadvertently donned the number 14 At this juncture, the number 14 and Amon-Ra St. Brown appear to be an iconic combination.
Although the Detroit Lions receiver did not wear it during his undergraduate years, he has styled it well in the NFL. However, that number was never intended for St. Brown, as per a narrative presented in season two of the Netflix docuseries
“Quarterback.” Since St. Brown was selected on Day 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft, you have likely heard the following many times: the Lions receiver possesses a comprehensive catalog of all receivers selected in that draft class prior to him. St. Brown was evidently dissatisfied with his fourth-round placement, and he is still
capable of recalling the names of all the receivers and their respective colleges that were selected prior to Detroit’s 112th overall selection. He was actually interested in elevating that pettiness to an entirely new level by wearing the jersey number of the number of receivers selected before him in the draft. His fiancĂ©e at the time miscounted, which was the sole issue.
Brooklyn Adams recounted the narrative during a conversation with Christen Harper, Jared Goff’s wife. “He will never acknowledge this, but he requested that I count the number of receivers (drafted) who came before him. This was to be his number, and I made a mistake.” Adams clarified, “It is not fourteen.” “I informed him that the number was 14, and that is why he is 14.
” It was discovered that she was two degrees off. 16 receivers were selected ahead of St. Brown, which would have presented an intriguing dilemma, given that Goff has worn 16 throughout his NFL career. St. Brown stated on the Netflix program, “In hindsight, I should have selected 16.” “However, I believe that Jared appears more attractive in 16 than I do.”
