Three formations Barcelona can use including Nico Williams

There are three potential avenues for Barcelona to align with Nico Williams. Barcelona’s pursuit of Nico Williams has gained significant momentum in recent days, and the club is now making a concerted effort to secure the Athletic Club forward.

This is a remarkable reversal from just two weeks ago, when the prospect of Nico joining Barcelona was nearly unimaginable. However, the current situation indicates that Nico has supplanted Luis Diaz as Barcelona’s primary attacking target this summer, as the club seeks to enhance its options in the final third.

The primary objective of recruiting a new forward this summer is to increase the level of competition for the attacking trio of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski. However, it is feasible that coach Hansi Flick may be obliged to establish his starting eleven, which would retain Nico as a starter rather than a benchwarmer, due to the player’s exceptional quality.

In this section, we will examine three potential formations that Barcelona could employ with Nico Williams in the upcoming season.3-3: Nico is on the left, Yamal is on the right. This is the most conventional and uncomplicated alternative. Nico is a natural left winger, and his ability to cut in from that flank enables him to generate space for overlapping full-backs and drive at defenders.

This formation has the potential to be highly beneficial for Barcelona, particularly in light of the rapport he has with left-back Alejandro Balde. This is particularly true when Lamine Yamal is causing havoc on the opposing end. Drawback: Raphinha would be compelled to accept a substitute position if Flick elects to implement a three-midfielder system,

which could be considered criminal in light of his season. Raphinha occupies a central position in the 4-2-3-1 formation. If Flick intends to maintain Raphinha’s position in the starting eleven while also accommodating Nico and Yamal, a 4-2-3-1 formation would be more sensible.
