Tomas Cvancara issues stark warning to Celtic chiefs with loan future set to spark decision

Tomas Cvancara turns up heat on Celtic board as loan striker eyes permanent Parkhead stay

Tomas Cvancara has made his intentions crystal clear — he wants to leave the Celtic hierarchy with no choice but to sign him permanently this summer.

The Czech striker arrived at Parkhead on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach, with Celtic holding a £7million option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Now, the 25-year-old is determined to ensure that clause becomes a formality rather than a debate.

Despite Celtic sitting in a strong position domestically, supporters have voiced frustration over recruitment in recent windows. January additions have struggled to make an instant impact, but Cvancara has shown flashes of promise, contributing a goal and two assists in his opening five appearances.

However, he knows potential alone will not justify a significant transfer fee. With Celtic locked in a fierce three-way battle to retain the Scottish Premiership title, Cvancara believes the coming months are his audition for a long-term future in Glasgow.

Speaking on the Celtic FC Podcast, he admitted his mission is simple: prove he belongs.

He insisted he wants to demonstrate to the board, the supporters and everyone at the club that they “have to sign” him for the future. For Cvancara, performances between now and May will decide everything.

While a return to the Czech Republic national team would be welcomed, his full focus remains on club football.

The forward stressed that international ambitions are secondary to establishing himself at Celtic, making clear that scoring goals, providing assists and helping the team win are his immediate priorities.

Cvancara’s message to the Celtic board could not be louder — judge me by what I deliver now, and make the decision impossible to ignore.
