It is hard to understate the potential impact Tomáš Čvančara could have on Celtic’s season.
The striker has arrived on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach with an option to buy, and while Martin O’Neill has played down suggestions that he is a quick fix, there is a clear expectation for the forward to make an immediate contribution.
Čvančara insists he is joining a squad still fully committed to the title race. “I think we have a very strong team,” he said.
“We are still fighting for the title and we will continue to fight. I’m happy to be here and to join the group.”
The Czech forward also revealed he spoke with O’Neill before completing the move, describing the Celtic manager as a major factor in his decision.
