Chelsea will not have Jefferson Lerma for their Wednesday night game against Newcastle United. After beating West Ham 5-2 on Sunday, the Eagles will be ready to face the Magpies at Selhurst Park. This win comes after their 1-0 win at Anfield the week before.

However, the Colombian player will not be able to play on Wednesday because he hurt his hamstring late in the previous game at Anfield. Lerma didn’t play in their win over the Hammers, and Oliver Glasner stated that he won’t be able to play again until next month. The coach told Lerma, “We will miss him until Manchester United at the very least.” “So for this week, we have three games in six or seven days.”

“It’s his hamstring,” he said. It was not very lucky. There was a run against Salah, one of 30 he had done. He took a big step and then felt it.

He asked to be replaced, but we couldn’t do it. The game was over. That’s when he said, “Okay, finish the game with us.” But he could still feel it afterward, so we got the results.”

Glasner took over as Roy Hodgson’s replacement at Selhurst Park and has led his team to win three, tie three, and lose three of their nine league games. United has only won one game at Selhurst Park in the last ten years, and that was in November 2020, when the stadium was empty.

Team news for Newcastle

How much time do you have? Since the beginning of the season, half of Newcastle’s team has been hurt and unable to play. Shields Gazette has today’s news about the Newcastle team.

Miguel Almiron was most recently added to the treatment table as he left the field against West Ham United. He’s almost ready to play again, but not in this game.

As far as Newcastle is concerned, Nick Pope has been out for a long time. He should be back before the end of the season. He won’t play in this game, though.

Kieran Trippier hasn’t played in almost a month. He is almost ready to play again, but the Sheffield United game is more likely to happen before he can play again. He can’t play in this match.

Matt Targett hasn’t played in a few games lately, so not much has been said about him. He might have to get back quickly, but there’s not much chance he’ll be able to start this game anyway.

Lewis Miley’s season was cut short, which is sad, and he probably won’t be able to make it to this game.

Joelinton will not be able to play in this game because he had surgery earlier in the season.

Joe Willock will not play for the rest of the season either, so he will not start.

Also out for the rest of the season are Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, who plays defense with him.

Sandro Tonali is, of course, banned, so he can’t play in this game.

Now, though, some good news. Callum Wilson should be in the running after just getting back to training after being out for a while with an illness.
