“Tough” – Scottish football manager Steve Clarke break silence and speaks out on Scotland and Celtic 31-year-old Midfielder Callum McGregor performance after Scotland vs Switzerland draw match (1-1) in the Euro 2024

Steve Clarke hailed one Celtic player’s play in last night’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland as the Euros come to a thrilling end for Scotland.

Scotland could not afford to lose this game, and the Dark Blues got off to a great start when Callum McGregor, the leader of Celtic, helped score the first goal for Steve Clarke’s team.

However, it wasn’t enough because Shaqiri scored an equalizer after Anthony Ralston dropped a pass. This meant that both teams shared the win, leaving the last group game on Sunday night on a knife-edge.

Scotland will definitely make it as the best third-placed team if they beat Hungary.

But that wouldn’t have been possible without what happened last night, and Steve Clarke named Callum McGregor’s play as one that stood out.

The leader of Celtic was “outstanding.”

Someone was unfairly critical of Callum McGregor for the loss to Germany last Friday, but he responded well when Clarke acknowledged the Celtic captain’s role.

“I always planned to start Billy in the second game,” Clarke told The Herald. That could be the reason he didn’t start the first game.

“I knew, though, because I could see the little guy getting tired near the end of the game.”

It’s a tough shift in the middle of the field. He and Callum McGregor, who played center midfield, both did a great job for us.

There is still time for Scotland to make history, and after last night’s game, McGregor and his team can feel more confident going into Sunday night’s game against Hungary.

It would be great to win by a few goals, but for now the most important thing is to get the win, which would add to McGregor’s already impressive list of accomplishments in the Scottish game.
