Two major signings Manchester United should make this summer transfer window that will strengthen the team at Old trafford

Manchester United ended a tough season in the best way possible by beating bitter foes Manchester City at Wembley to win the FA Cup.

But every United fan knows that there is still a lot of work to be done. An eighth-place finish in the Premier League shows how much work still needs to be done to get United back to the top of English football.

United can’t spend a lot of money in this window because of PSR rules. INEOS will want to make a good impact in their first summer transfer window at the club, but they have to work within the rules.

So, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will have to be smart about how much they spend to try to fill as many holes in the team as possible. This could mean looking into the market for free agents to get good players without having to pay a lot of money in transfer fees.

The club shouldn’t really base its main signings on free agents, but there can be good backup choices or good chances, like when they signed Christian Eriksen in 2022. Even though this wasn’t his best season, he was an important part of the team’s center in 2022–23.

All three of these players can join United for free this summer and could make the team stronger.

It’s Wissam Ben Yedder

United has been interested in and aware of Ben Yedder for a long time. The Red Devils were interested in the French-Tunisian goal scorer as early as 2019.

During his career, he has played 19 times for France and scored three goals. He has a great record in the French Ligue 1, where he has scored 118 goals in 201 games for Monaco.

The striker also scored a lot for Sevilla in La Liga, with 70 goals in 138 games.

Besides that, he has scored more than 20 goals six times in the last seven seasons. The only time he didn’t, he scored 19.

Ben Yedder is 33 years old now, but he has scored a lot of goals in his career and can be a great backup for Rasmus Hojlund. You can see that United needs a striker, but they don’t want to get in the way of their young striker’s growth. Many fans and people at the club think he has what it takes to get to the top.

To be honest, Ben Yedder has never played for a team like United. At 33 years old, he would probably be happy to sit on the bench and help teach Hojlund the ropes.

He also has a very different build than the Dane. He is said to have a “low center of gravity” because he is only 1.70 meters tall (5’7”) and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. The Monaco player is a threat to opposing defenders.

Mario Hermoso

United’s defense has been terrible this season; they’ve let 85 goals in all categories.

It is important for INEOS to get at least one defender this summer. A more reasonable choice would be someone like Jarrad Branthwaite or Jean-Clair Todibo, but they will cost a lot, especially Branthwaite.

United may not be able to get Tosin Adarabioyo because Chelsea got him, but they could still sign a free center back.

Hermoso is only 28 years old, but he has a lot of knowledge. He has been with Atletico Madrid for five years and has played 174 times for the team.

If you want to stay as a defender at Atletico or under Diego Simeone, you need to know how to do it. Not only that, but he can also play left back, which would give United’s defense more options.

Someone said that he was “great on the ball, with good distribution and passing all around.” Besides that, “he has been an important part of Atleti’s defense and a leader in the locker room.”

If INEOS can find a tough, experienced, ball-playing center back for free, they should at least look into the deal.
