Man United is now in competition with two Premier League clubs for the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, as Ruben Amorim has made a demand.
The pursuit of Bryan Mbuemo from Brentford has been further complicated by the expression of interest from two Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, in one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.
The France-born Cameroon international was widely reported to have expressed his preference to join Manchester United over other interested clubs earlier this month. The Reds subsequently opened talks with Brentford as they pursued an agreement. Brentford rejected a preliminary offer of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons.
However, after the parties continued to negotiate, United has now submitted an offer that exceeds £60 million, as reported by journalist Duncan Castles. Thomas Frank’s appointment at Spurs has presumably thrown a spanner in the works, as United were always anticipated to submit another offer following their initial bid being rejected. However, other clubs remain interested.
has garnered interest from numerous top-tier clubs, including Arsenal, following his 20 goals and seven assists in 38 league appearances for the Bees last season. The Star reports that Ruben Amorim is ‘frustrated’ with United’s lack of recruitment since the season’s conclusion. In reality, the report asserts that Amorim identified a number of potential targets months ago; however,
“little has happened” except for the arrival of Mathues Cunha from Wolves. Which positions does United intend to fortify this summer? United are reportedly interested in recruiting two additional forwards, a midfielder and a custodian this summer, according to The Manchester Evening News.
United is also interested in acquiring a centre-forward who is prolific, in addition to Mbeumo. Hugo Ekitike, a striker for Eintracht Frankfurt, is still being linked to Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen. A new midfielder may be recruited prior to the 2025/26 season, as Christian Eriksen is expected to depart Old Trafford upon the conclusion of his contract at the end of the month.
