Ederson, the goalie for Manchester City, has had a rough summer because of rumors about his future at the club.
There were “false” reports that Ederson was unhappy with the praise that Stefan Ortega got last season. He responded to those claims.
The Brazilian had to leave the game against Tottenham Hotspur because he hurt his head, which ended his season early. Ortega took over for the Blues’ first-choice goalkeeper, who looked angry about the change.
During his appearance, the German made a great stop to keep Son Heung-min from scoring in a one-on-one situation, which got a lot of praise. This week, The Athletic said that Ederson was upset by the praise Ortega was getting, including the idea that some people thought he wouldn’t have made the save his replacement did to stop the South Korean international.
People say this is the reason Ederson might want to move to Saudi Arabia this summer, where Al Ittihad is said to want to sign him. The 30-year-old, however, has told his side of the story about the report on social media.
He wrote, “Just to be clear, the note that was published by The Athletic yesterday was about how unhappy I was with a coworker.” It’s not true at all.
“The alleged day in question was without a doubt one of the hardest days of my career. I broke my leg, which kept me from playing in the last few games of the season and, as a result, representing my country in the Copa America.” As I was getting hurt, all I could think about was continuing the game and defending City in the title fight. But the emotion of the game would get the best of me, and I would not be able to do what I wanted to do because the injury would completely block my field of vision.
“I’m still focused on getting ready for the season.” EM31.”
At the start of this summer, Ortega signed a new deal with the Etihad Stadium. Ederson, on the other hand, has two years left on his contract.
