Update on Newcastle United’s Official Training Facility: Alexander Isak Excluded from Participation and Confirmation of Dual Injury SetbackAlexander Isak, Sven Botman, Jacob
Murphy, and Joe Willock were all given a respite for the FA Cup third-round match at St James’ Park. Isak and Botman were unable to participate in training prior to the match due to experiencing muscular issues sustained during the 2-0 victory in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal.
Isak was substituted due to a hamstring injury, while Botman finished the match despite experiencing a groin issue at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. Jacob Murphy also picked up a knock while Joe Willock withdrew out of the match after picking up a training ground injury.
All four players will undergo evaluation prior to the Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at St James’ Park, scheduled for a 7:30 PM kick-off on Wednesday.
Newcastle approaches the forthcoming match with the objective of achieving nine consecutive victories across all competitions, a feat not accomplished in the modern era. Harvey Barnes netted the decisive goal against Wolverhampton
Wanderers in August; however, he was substituted during the match against Bromley due to a muscular concern. Jamaal Lascelles and Callum Wilson continue to be unavailable for Newcastle due to injury, whereas Emil Krafth and Nick Pope are anticipated to return to contention in the forthcoming matches.
If deemed ready for participation, Isak will aim to extend his scoring streak to eight consecutive Premier League matches for Newcastle, thereby setting a new club record.
