Victor Osimhen to Manchester United transfer update as brutal Chelsea reality becomes apparent amid Arsenal interest Victor Osimhen will not be registering for Manchester United during the summer transfer window, according to John Obi Mikel, if they are not participating in any UEFA competition next season.
Manchester United would be eligible to participate in the Champions League if they were to win the Europa League. With only four league games remaining, they are unable to secure a spot in any form of European football by finishing high enough in the Premier League table. Since joining Lille in the summer of 2019,
Osimhen, 26, has participated in either the Champions League or Europa League each season. The striker has no intention of halting the streak, according to his fellow countryman. Mikel acknowledged this during Soccer Sunday Live on beIN SPORTS. “If that is the case, then he does not go to United,” stated the former international teammate of
Osimhen when asked whether a club that is not participating in Europe next season could prevent them from acquiring the player. Mikel also stated earlier in the conversation that Osimhen “wants to play for Chelsea,” but he refrained from specifying which team he believes the striker will be playing for next season.
He expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, but when prompted again, he replied, “I am uncertain; we will have to wait and see.” The experienced Chelsea midfielder stated that the striker could be readily acquired by his former club. This conviction is based on the reported knowledge of their contract negotiations to sign Osimhen last summer.
