Viktor Gyokeres declines a substantial contract offer and informs his family and acquaintances of his decision to join a particular club. A recent report indicates that Viktor Gyokeres has declined a substantial offer as a result of informing his friends and family about the club to which he will be joining this summer.

In recent weeks, the Sporting Lisbon striker has been the subject of a burgeoning transfer saga. It was nearly certain that Gyokeres would depart Portugal this summer after scoring 54 goals in all competitions during the 2024/25 season.

The manner in which the situation has unfolded since then was unexpected. Sporting president Frederico Varandas has accused Gyokeres’ entourage of “blackmail” in relation to claims made by the Swede’s agent regarding the existence of a gentleman’s agreement, which would allow him to be sold for a predetermined sum.

Despite being promised a salary of €13 million per year (€250,000 per week), it is alleged that he has explicitly expressed his disinterest in participating in the Serie A next season to Juve. Rather, Gyokeres has indicated that he is interested in joining a Premier League club.

According to Alex Crook of TalkSPORT, the Swede has informed his family and associates that he anticipates joining Arsenal this summer. The Gunners are currently in search of a striker, as Kai Havertz is the sole viable option in the position. Additionally, they have been associated with Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.
