“FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached a contract for the German to become men’s first-team football coach until 30 June 2026,” a statement released by the club stated.

As a result of Germany’s elimination from the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Flick was fired by the German team in September. This came after Germany suffered a friendly loss to Japan by a score of 4-1.

In addition to winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles and the Champions League in 2020 during his two-season stint with Bayern, he was an assistant coach for Joachim Low during his country’s victory at the 2014 World Cup, which was held in Brazil.

“First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone (involved),” Francis Flick stated in a video that was uploaded to X by Barcelona. For me, signing my contract here in Barcelona, to work for this incredible club, is not only a great honor but also a dream come true, and I couldn’t be happier to get everything started.
