Dan Campbell was brimming with emotion inside the visiting locker room at M&T Bank Stadium on Monday night following the Detroit Lions’ thrilling 38-30 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
The Lions boss, his voice nearly gone, kept his message brief but powerful — his joy was impossible to miss.
“That’s a great (expletive) win,” Campbell told his players. “We did exactly what we said we would do — played complementary football.”
Campbell praised his squad for stepping up in every phase when it mattered most, before handing out the game balls. Running back David Montgomery, who exploded for 151 rushing yards on just 12 carries with two touchdowns, and defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad, who delivered 2.5 sacks and multiple hits on Lamar Jackson in place of the injured Marcus Davenport, both earned the honors.
