“We laughed, we cried, and we knew we were saying goodbye.” Manchester United 49-year-old legend David Beckham finally spoke up and sent out a sad message after Sven-Goran Eriksson’s death.
David Beckham, a famous player for Manchester United, paid tribute to Sven-Goran Eriksson with deep sadness over his death at the age of 76.
The former England captain used social media to talk about their sad last game in Sweden and shared a personal note that explained how he felt about his ex-manager’s death. Beckham wrote to remember, “We laughed, we cried, and we knew we were saying goodbye.”
“Sven, thank you for always being the passionate, caring, calm, and gentlemanly person you have always been.” “I will always be thankful that you made me captain, but these last memories of this day with you and your family will always be the best.”
There are tributes to Eriksson coming from all over the football world and beyond. Prince William said, “Sad to hear about the passing of Sven-Goran Eriksson.” It was great to meet him more than once while I was England’s manager. He was always so charming and excited about the game.
“My thoughts are with his friends and family.” A real gentleman in the game. W.”
The head of the Football Association, Mark Bullingham, said, “Today is a very sad day.” All England fans will always remember him in a special way.
“No one will ever forget the 5-1 win over Germany in Munich, which Sven led.” People will always remember and honor Sven for the important work he did with the England team and for his contributions to the game in general.
“On behalf of all of my former and present coworkers at The FA, our thoughts are with his family and friends today.” He was a great man who will be missed. When we play Finland at Wembley next month, we will honor him.
Eriksson, who was known for being cool and smart about football, spent most of his last days in his hometown of Sunne in Sweden. He would go for peaceful walks by Lake Fryken there until his health wouldn’t let him anymore.
In those peaceful places, he spent important time getting back in touch with his loved ones. His children wrote a touching message about his death: “Our father Sven-Goran Eriksson fell asleep peacefully in his home at Bjorkefors outside of Sunne this morning.”
“He bravely fought his illness for a long time, but now it’s over.” Thoughts are with Sven-Goran’s father, Sven, his girlfriend Yaniseth, and her son Alcides. Also with his brother Lasse and his wife Jumnong, and with all of their good friends and acquaintances in Sweden and around the world.
“Dad told us at the start of this year that he was very sick, and friends and football fans all over Europe sent him amazing messages of support.” Several football teams in England, Italy, Portugal, and Sweden asked him to join.
