West Bromwich Albion F.C. are reportedly not exploring a move to bring back Slaven Bilic despite speculation circulating on social media.
According to reports, rumours suggesting Bilic could return to The Hawthorns are wide of the mark, with no concrete developments regarding the club’s search for a permanent head coach. The Baggies dismissed Eric Ramsay last month, and since then a number of names have been linked with the struggling Championship side.
West Brom currently sit 21st in the table, just one point above the relegation zone, after failing to win any of their last 11 league matches. Supporters remain anxious as they await confirmation of who will become the club’s third manager of the season and whether that appointment can steer them clear of relegation.
Bilic, now 57, previously managed Albion between 2019 and 2020, guiding them to promotion from the Championship before being dismissed early in their subsequent Premier League campaign. Since leaving West Brom, he has managed Beijing Guoan F.C. in China, had a short spell at Watford F.C. during the 2022/23 season, and later took charge of Al Fateh SC, departing in August 2024.
For now, former Albion midfielder James Morrison remains in interim charge following Ramsay’s exit. There is also speculation that Darren Moore, recently dismissed by Port Vale F.C., could return in a coaching capacity to support Morrison.
With limited movement in the managerial search, West Brom may opt to stick with Morrison until the summer before appointing a permanent successor. Albion are next in action against Sheffield United F.C. this weekend.
