The fact that Kylian Mbappe considers Cristiano Ronaldo to be his football idol is not a secret; yet, the question remains: how long will it take the Frenchman to surpass Ronaldo’s record for Real Madrid in terms of scoring?
Ronaldo was a member of Real Madrid for a total of nine years, and during that time, he accomplished the feat of scoring more goals than he did of making appearances.
When he departed the club in 2018, he was the all-time leading scorer for the club, with an astounding 450 goals to his name. This is 96 more goals than anybody else has ever scored for the club.
His most productive year was 2014–2015, when he scored an astounding 61 goals across all competitions. This was his most prolific year. In spite of the fact that his goalscoring stats remained stable throughout his time at the club, Mbappe still has a lot of work to do if he wants to catch up.
The Frenchman has claimed that he is following his own route, despite the fact that comparisons have been made between Mbappe and CR7.
When asked about the similarities between himself and Ronaldo, Mbappe responded to the reporters by saying, “I am following my own path.”
“I am getting closer and closer to realizing my ambition of playing for Real Madrid. I have high hopes that I will also be able to mark football, but I am not going to be the one to write the next chapter in the story of Cristiano Ronaldo.
