What Manchester City player Jack Grealish angry gestures to Newcastle United fans in the tunnel after their draw match on Saturday means revealed
As he left the field after Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City, the England and Manchester City star made a move toward the fans.
It looked like Jack Grealish was mad as he walked off the field after Manchester City and Newcastle United tied 1-1.
Newcastle fans don’t like the England player because of what he said about Miguel Almiron during Man City’s title celebrations in 2022. He was drunk and made an inappropriate dig at the Paraguay star, and the video of it went viral on social media.
North London didn’t get all three points at St. James’ Park, so Toon fans were quick to tell Grealish as he left the field. After being told to leave, Grealish replied with a “shush” sign and then went down the tunnel.
It was clear that Newcastle, like Arsenal the previous game, had gotten the better of Man City on a day when the winners came to St. James’ Park hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table.
It was also said on Man City’s commentary line that Newcastle shouldn’t have had a penalty in the second half. The club said, “It sounds like anger, but it’s not. Gordon takes the ball too far, clears it off Ederson, kicks the ground, and falls down.”
It was the right choice to send the ref to the monitor since VAR could see the same pictures. I’ll end it there because I think I went on too long. These things do happen in football, but it’s too bad that we have the technology to fix mistakes so often.
After the great flag show for the former Everton star before the game, Gordon’s day was pretty much set. A six-year contract is thought to have been decided upon, but this will not be made public until the right time.
Gordon really liked that his name and number were shown on the East Stand, and the Gallowgate End did the same. At the Leazes End, the cheers died down a bit, though, and the England player turned around and tapped the club crest.
After rumors about Liverpool in the summer, it seemed like a clear sign that he would be staying on Tyneside. And how much Newcastle will need them to keep up with teams like Man City in the future.
Fortress St. James’ Park is getting its old image back.
As of the 1-1 draw with Manchester City, Newcastle hasn’t lost at St. James’ Park in twelve games since Man City won here in the last minute of January.
Last weekend, the Magpies lost their perfect streak for the 2024–25 season. However, they can still say that they haven’t lost at home this season, which is similar to how they did last year. But Newcastle isn’t nearly as good as the Entertainers, who went 26 games without losing from February 23, 1994, to April 8, 1995.
