William Saliba’s ban decision is pending, and Arsenal is preparing for upcoming challenges against Newcastle United and Liverpool.
Arsenal is anticipating the decision regarding William Saliba’s suspension, as Liverpool and Newcastle United are preparing for upcoming
examinations. Following his red card at Bournemouth on Saturday, Arsenal is anticipating a decision from the Premier League regarding the duration of William Saliba’s suspension. After a VAR review, the 23-year-old French defender was dismissed for dragging down Cherries striker Evanilson. The yellow card that referee Rob Jones initially issued to Saliba was converted to a red card on the recommendation of VAR, resulting in a suspension for the player. Violent conduct offenses are typically subject to a one-match suspension by the Premier League, while straight red cards can result in a three-match ban. Consequently, he would be eligible to face Newcastle United at St James’ Park on November 2. The Gunners’ match against Liverpool next weekend would be missed by him; however, he would be available to participate in their Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk on T.
The defeat at Bournemouth was missed by Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and defender Jurrien Timber. Odegaard may make his return against Liverpool next week, but Saka’s status is uncertain due to an injury sustained during his time with the England team. Jakub Kiwior is expected to form a defensive partnership with Gabriel in the event that Saliba is suspended. Following their 1-0 loss to Brighton on Saturday, Newcastle will face two games against Chelsea in the third of three taxing fixtures under Eddie Howe.
