Once the season was over, there was a lot of noise from Celtic across the road.
Rangers have gotten new money from the 49ers Enterprise. This means they are going to rule the world, which is something many people inside Celtic Park have heard for years.
Brendan Rodgers is in charge for the second time. In both of his previous jobs, he dealt with Rangers and made more noise than he did on the field, which is why he has won four titles in a row.
That includes Celtic winning their 55th title this season. They missed out on the Treble because they lost the Scottish Cup final to Aberdeen on penalties last month.
Celtic is so good that the club is upset that they haven’t won any titles yet. This shows how dominant they are.
But Simon Jordan spoke out about all the talk about Rangers’ new investment after it was almost certain to happen.
Simon Jordan on the gap between Celtic and Rangers
Rangers told their fans in a statement that “£20m of new investment will be made available” before the summer transfer window opens again.
That was put to Jordan, and he made it clear that he “wouldn’t be too excited by that statement.” He also told talkSPORT that the gap between Celtic and Rangers is “quite significant.”
“The club says ‘£20m of new investment will be made available in the summer,'” Jim White said. People who support will think, “Well, let’s hope that’s just the beginning.” “That’s fine, but that’s only the beginning.”
When asked, Jordan said, “Yeah, I don’t know what that will change.”
“In the end, you have a club that is quite a distance behind Celtic.” Even though they have scored some goals against Celtic this season, which they hadn’t done before. The phrase “£20m is being made available” doesn’t get me very excited.
“That was my big question.” What is the main reason for owning something? What does it do? What kind of deal is Scottish football? Also, what does it mean for the new owners in terms of their share of the football club?
“Does that mean that it’s slightly worse for Rangers and better for Leeds?” Rangers players might find their way into the Leeds team instead of Rangers players finding their way and taking over Scottish football. They will, of course, fight back against that.
Cups won by Celtic and Rangers since 2000
As was already said, the club has won 14 of the last 15 games and four of the last four tournaments Rodgers has been in charge of.
Celtic was a little off this season (2025), losing two Glasgow derbies, but they still made it to the title game.
But Celtic has looked better than Rangers for a long time, not just this season or in the last few years. For many years, the signs have been there.
