Wrexham A.F.C. have reportedly emerged as surprise contenders to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham F.C., despite strong interest from Premier League sides.
The 28-year-old winger was close to joining Leeds United F.C. on deadline day last summer, but the proposed switch ultimately fell through. As a result, he remained at Craven Cottage, where he has been since 2021, and has gone on to enjoy arguably the best campaign of his career.
Leeds continue to be linked with the Wales international, while Aston Villa F.C. and Everton F.C. are also believed to be monitoring his situation. There have additionally been suggestions of interest from Sunderland A.F.C. and Brentford F.C..
According to TEAMtalk, Wrexham could launch an ambitious bid if they secure promotion from the Championship. The Welsh club may hold sentimental appeal for Wilson, who was born in Wrexham and grew up supporting his hometown side.
However, they could face stiff competition from clubs capable of offering European football. Wrexham currently sit just outside the play-off places in the Championship, keeping their promotion hopes alive as the season reaches a crucial stage.
Wilson previously revealed details of his collapsed move to Leeds, admitting the transfer came close before breaking down late in the window.
