Berni McCarthy, a former assistant coach at Manchester United, said that boss Erik ten Hag lacks passion and charisma.
McCarthy quit Old Trafford this summer, after the Red Devils won the FA Cup.
People think that United didn’t fire Ten Hag because of their win against Manchester City in the final.
But Ten Hag is under more heat now that the new season is two weeks old after a terrible 3-0 loss at home to Tottenham last Sunday.
Now McCarthy has talked about why the Dutch manager might be failing at the Premier League club.
It was Zero Zero who told him, “He lacks a bit of that fire, that passion.” We don’t agree on that, him and I.
“That seems to have been one of the problems the team and players had.”
“It’s not easy for someone like me who has strong beliefs.” Erik always had the last word.
McCarthy also talked about Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United and said he thinks Ten Hag lost his time there.
He also said, “It would be great if we worked together and let Cristiano do what he needs to do in his role; he is the best at it in the world.”
“I believe Manchester United missed a wonderful chance to make good use of Cristiano.”
“But I wasn’t the head coach, so I couldn’t make those choices.”
