Hidden reason Why Cole Palmer was absent Chelsea vs Brighton match today
Cole Palmer has had a great start to his time at Chelsea since his surprise move from Manchester City in the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has explained why Cole Palmer was not picked for the game against Brighton by Chelsea. Early in the summer, the 21-year-old defender moved from Etihad Stadium to Stamford Bridge. He has quickly become an important player for the Blues.
Palmer, on the other hand, will not start for Chelsea when they play Brighton on Sunday afternoon. Speaking to Sky Sports before the game, Pochettino said that the England player got hurt in training and that he was worried about how many games there would be over the holidays.
“We work together when we score goals and play games, and when we give up goals and win games, too.” Today I think we can change how we feel about that.
When asked about Palmer, Pochettino finally said, “He felt something during the week, and we don’t want to take a chance.” We don’t want to take a chance because we have too many games coming up. These next few weeks will be very busy.
In December, Chelsea plays eight games in all divisions. During the Christmas holiday, they play three in just seven days. After less than a week in the new year, the Blues have another game. This time, they play Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup.
When asked about the changes made to Chelsea’s lineup after their disappointing loss to Newcastle last weekend, the former Tottenham boss said, “Some I think were because of suspensions like Reece [James] and Marc [Cucurella].”
“After that, I think it’s always important to look at things and decide what the best starting eleven and combination is.” “I believe that is the best team to play with today.”
Pochettino was then asked how important it was to recover. He replied, “Of course, it’s always a group.” When you score or give up, it’s about how well everyone works together. It’s probably true to say that it’s always a team.
