Newcastle United received an injury boost prior to West Ham, as a critical player was observed in training with a £59 million tandem.

Newcastle United has received a triple injury reinforcement in anticipation of their Premier League match against West Ham United on 25 November (8pm kick-off).

Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are expected to recover from their respective injuries, provided that there are no complications during the international break.

Wilson has not appeared since the preseason due to back and hamstring issues, while Trippier has been sidelined for more than a month with a hamstring injury. After being withdrawn due to a hip issue during the 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Anthony Gordon experienced an injury concern.

Eddie Howe, Newcastle’s head coach, pronounced Gordon to be uncertain prior to the international break. However, the 23-year-old has since re-joined the England squad and participated in training at St George’s Park on Tuesday. Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, his Newcastle colleagues, were present.

After eight players withdrew due to injury, Livramento was added to the squad. Gordon was not among them, which was fortunate for Newcastle.

In the final international break of 2024, England will travel to Greece, the leaders of the Nations League group, on Thursday and entertain the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.

Gordon is expected to be available for the West Ham match at St James’ Park following the international break, as things currently stand.

However, Newcastle is still facing some challenges prior to the encounter, as Emil Krafth is currently sidelined due to a broken collar bone and Dan Burn is suspended. Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles continue to be sidelined due to long-term ACL injuries.

Newcastle is preparing to embark on a warm-weather training exercise in Saudi Arabia with their non-international players, following their three consecutive victories over Arsenal, Chelsea, and Nottingham Forest.

They will be anticipating that their international players will emerge unscathed from the break, as they pursue a fourth consecutive victory when they host The Hammers.
