Chelsea is preparing to exploit a high-profile deal from Arsenal next summer.According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea intends to exploit Arsenal’s prospective acquisition of Alexander Isak, a Newcastle United striker.
According to reports, the Swedish international, who has been in exceptional form for the Magpies, is reportedly uncertain about his long-term future at St. James’ Park. This is primarily due to his frustrations with his limited participation in the UEFA Champions League.
Chelsea, who are currently managed by Enzo Maresca, are rumoured to have contacted the 25-year-old about the possibility of signing him and are reportedly preparing a potential £115 million proposal to bring him to Stamford Bridge. Newcastle is reportedly keen to offer Isak a lucrative new contract, according to reports.
However, Chelsea is of the opinion that a substantial offer could persuade the Magpies to sell. Arsenal has also been firmly associated with Isak, with reports describing him as their “dream” signing.
The Arsenal have been in pursuit of supplementary attacking options and regard Isak as a player who has the potential to substantially enhance their frontline.
According to reports, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed admiration for the forward’s capacity to integrate technical skills with goal-scoring abilities.
Paul Merson, a former Arsenal midfielder, expressed his astonishment that the North London club did not pursue Isak in the previous transfer window.
“This young man is a personal favourite of mine,” Merson stated in an interview with Sky Sports. “I am taken aback that Arsenal did not make a significant effort to secure him during the summer.”
I believe he was the lacking piece for Arsenal.Alexander Isak has been a standout performer for Newcastle, netting 21 Premier League goals last season.
He has garnered high praise from pundits for his capacity to create space for comrades, spread the play, and come up short.
Merson is of the opinion that Arsenal’s attacking capabilities, which include Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka, could be enhanced by Isak’s approach.
“He has the ability to come short, enter the box, and spread the game.” Arsenal appears to be somewhat congested at the moment. Merson further stated, “They lack a player of the calibre of Isak to facilitate the spread of the play and create space.”
