Carter Vickers maintains that his Celtic transfer inbox is devoid of any correspondence and that he is not interested in investigating potential acquisitions.
Cameron Carter-Vickers serves as the cornerstone of the Hoops’ defensive line, and it will require considerable effort to displace him from his position at Parkhead.
The prominent American player has significantly contributed to Celtic’s recent achievements, and it is unsurprising that teams throughout Europe and beyond have taken notice.
Recent discussions regarding Bayer Leverkusen’s interest in acquiring Carter-Vickers were firmly dismissed by Brendan Rodgers, and the level of interest did not escalate sufficiently to warrant a formal approach. However, the defender appears to be relatively unconcerned.
The 27-year-old asserted that he is not seeking opportunities elsewhere, as he feels entirely content in his current situation. Carter-Vickers stated, “I feel quite at ease in this environment.” To be fair, when I encounter such information, I tend not to pay it much heed, as the veracity of the claims remains uncertain unless one is informed directly. Of which I was not.
Consequently, I do not pay significant attention to it.It is indeed gratifying to observe such instances, as they indicate that individuals are recognising and appreciating your efforts, which is a positive affirmation. I believe that, akin to various aspects of life, one should strive to perform any undertaken task to the utmost of their capabilities.
“Regardless of the current level of interest in any of the players, our primary focus remains on Celtic, and we are committed to achieving success for the team.” To be candid, I have not extensively contemplated this matter; however, I certainly feel a sense of stability in my current environment. I have thoroughly appreciated my time here thus far and aspire to continue experiencing this enjoyment.
Celtic supporters will be reassured to learn that the steadfast defender is not entertaining any potential suitors. They will undoubtedly be pleased to discover that the significant player believes the injury concerns that hindered his performance at the beginning of the season are now definitively resolved.
Carter-Vickers was unable to participate in a significant portion of the beginning of the last season due to undergoing knee surgery at the conclusion of the previous Treble-winning campaign. However, earlier in this instance, he was compelled to spend a period on the sidelines due to an issue that may have appeared insignificant to some; nonetheless, it was far more than a mere inconvenience for him personally.
Carter-Vickers stated, “It was my toe.” I engaged in several games; however, the discomfort became increasingly unbearable, necessitating my absence from subsequent matches. The recovery period for my toes is quite prolonged, yet I remain cognisant of the issue.
Nevertheless, in comparison to the severity of my earlier experiences this season, the current discomfort is considerably less significant. “I recently made contact with the ball via a header, after which I inadvertently rolled over onto the front of my toe, resulting in a snapping motion.” There is evidence of ligamentous injury present.
“I acknowledge that it is merely a toe; however, it is quite painful.” One may not fully comprehend the extent of pressure exerted on the toe through daily walking, particularly during activities such as football, where rapid changes in direction occur. The issue with the big toe has been resolved, and Carter-Vickers has returned to the team, performing at his optimal level once again.
The former Tottenham player consistently performs at a high level for Celtic, serving as the cornerstone of a defensive unit that has allowed a mere eight goals throughout the season and has achieved 17 clean sheets in 22 league matches.
Carter-Vickers is not one to meticulously analyse statistics; however, he takes considerable pride in his record, as well as in his consistent performance on a weekly basis. He stated, “I feel confident and believe that I have been performing consistently well for an extended period. For me, it is primarily about sustaining that level of performance.
” I take considerable pride in my level of consistency, and it is an aspect I am committed to maintaining and further developing. “Until the conclusion of the previous season, I had not experienced any significant injuries throughout my entire career.
However, it is inevitable that I will eventually encounter both minor and major injuries. As a player, it is essential to confront this reality and strive to return to the field with the same strength and vigour as before.” It is fortunate that Carter-Vickers is in optimal physical condition and performing well, given the rapid succession of upcoming matches.
Celtic experienced an unexpected setback against Rangers; however, they have maintained a dominant performance for the majority of the season, establishing a 15-point advantage at the summit of the Premiership.
