Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan has encouraged PIF partners to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the club.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the chairman of Newcastle United, has encouraged PIF partners to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the club.
The third annual private sector forum of the PIF was conducted this week, and it could not have occurred at a more opportune moment for Newcastle United. The Premier League’s Associated Party Transaction rules were declared unlawful and unenforceable by a tribunal just a few days prior to Yasir Al-
Rumayyan’s recommendation that PIF partners capitalise on the partnership opportunities with Newcastle United. The club has yet to secure a sponsor for the training kit, training ground, or prospective naming rights deal for St James’ Park, despite the fact that there are still numerous untapped sponsorship opportunities.
These opportunities would generate additional revenue to assist the club in its PSR efforts. The Magpies may be poised to make significant strides in the partnership sector as a result of the Premier League’s APT regulations, which were implemented in direct response to Newcastle’s acquisition.
Ya sir-Rumayyan was advocating for PIF stakeholders to collaborate, which could be advantageous to NUFC. The Newcastle Chairman urged stakeholders to capitalise on the opportunities that are available to them at the PIF’s event, as reported by The Chronicle. “The private sector is a critical partner in this successful endeavour and is a component of the national economic transformation.
” I urge you to maintain your competitive edge and continue to develop capabilities in order to keep up with the economic growth in Saudi Arabia and future initiatives. Additionally, I invite you to capitalise on the partnership opportunities that are available with the PIF and portfolio companies.
In light of the recent opening of the APT doors, it is possible that those in attendance are considering NUFC as a potential avenue for advertising in the UK and accessing the domestic market.Newcastle is anticipating the outcome of the most recent altercation between Manchester City and the Premier League.
Manchester City is contesting the current rules, which are minor amendments made by the Premier League following the initial ruling in November. The current APT ruling only applies to the rules in place between December 2021 and November 2024. If City prevails in this case, the entire APT rule could be scrapped.
Newcastle may not have much time to wait to determine the types of agreements they can negotiate, as the Premier League is actively pursuing a prompt resolution. It is unlikely that it will disrupt PSR, as there are still APT-type regulations that must be followed by UEFA. However, it will undoubtedly be beneficial.
