‘Tough times ahead’ – Anger Ruben Dias issues a caution to the Manchester City squad in response to their Champions League exit.

Ruben Dias declined to provide any justifications for Manchester City’s disappointing Champions League exit, encouraging his comrades to “grow” from their humiliation at the hands of Real Madrid. However, he cautioned that difficult times are on the horizon.

Dias acknowledged that the defeat was “painful” but also provided City with a glimmer of hope by pointing to a more organised schedule that could be beneficial as the season concluded. Three minutes into the second leg of the knockout play-off at the Bernabeu, Dias was responsible for Kylian Mbappe’s entry after he misjudged a long pass forward.

He, along with his other defensive teammates, struggled. After the match, he stated, “We were simply not good enough; the best team prevailed.” We are evidently irritated.

It is a challenging time; we were not capable of enduring it. It is as straightforward as that. The ambition is perpetually present; we consistently strive to achieve our best and establish circumstances in which we can make a meaningful impact. “This year we need to put our hands down and recognise we were just not good enough to go through.”

Dias suggested that the disappointment in Madrid must lead to “growth,” and he also stated that the club concurs with him on this matter. He then encouraged the squad to capitalise on the midweek opportunities that will become available in the absence of any additional Champions League knockout games.

“Our sole objective is to achieve victory.” Therefore, whenever we neglect to do so, the pain is exacerbated. “During periods such as these, one experiences the most significant personal development.” It occupies a significant portion of my thoughts and those of the club. Hands down, there is not much to say.

Shake hands and then gaze forward. We are currently involved in two competitions; therefore, it is imperative that we develop from this experience. It is the sole solution. “There is no time to harbour remorse.” Keep running and keep fighting; there is only time to develop. We must persevere through the challenging contests that lie ahead.

I am uncertain as to whether the frequency of participating every three days will increase by one or two weeks. Our schedule will be altered as a result of our withdrawal from the Champions League. Aim for the future and develop.
