Celtic might be able to find a good deal in the trade market…

It is said that Celtic are looking to add players in the new year and are particularly interested in a man who could fill a key position at Parkhead in the long run.

What you need to know about Celtic

In the past few months, Brendan Rodgers has been the loudest Celtic fan calling for good players to be signed to help his team win the Scottish Premiership. The Hoops have lost two straight league games for the first time since 2013. Because of this, they are now in a title race with Phillipe Clement’s Rangers, even though they have a safe lead at the top of the table.

Rodgers made his desire for new players clear in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this month, before his team’s 3-1 win away at St. Johnstone. He said, “There’s no doubt now that, one, the squad will come down in numbers and obviously we need to add quality.” There’s no way to hide it; the team lost some really good players over the summer. We will try to get better at that in the next few windows.”

A big part of Rodgers’ strategy at the start of the January transfer window will be getting ready for new players by getting old players to leave. The Sun says that Alexandro Bernabei, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Yuki Kobayashi, and Yosuke Ideguchi could all leave the club. They would join Nat Phillips, who is going back to Liverpool when his loan deal at Parkhead ends.

The story says that Celtic have been keeping an eye on Mathias Kvistgaarden, a striker for Brondby, and Bojan Miovski, a player wanted by Aberdeen, as they try to add more options in the final third. There are rumors that the Celtics want to sign a goalie who could be a good deal.

Celtic keeps an eye on Will Dennis.

The Daily Record says that Celtic are keeping an eye on players who are on loan. Kilmarnock’s goalkeeper Will Dennis and his scouting team have been pleased by how he has played in Ayrshire this season. The former Watford youngster is also wanted by Rangers. However, a move from either of Glasgow’s big two would depend on at least one of their backup goalkeepers leaving the club.

The 23-year-old’s parent club, Bournemouth, has not yet agreed to new terms with him. He could leave the Vitality Stadium for free in the summer of 2024, with only a cross-border settlement fee needed.

Dennis, who was called “talented” by his former boss Eddie Howe, has played 24 times for Kilmarnock this season across all competitions and kept ten clean sheets (Dennis statistics – Transfermarkt).

Joe Hart will need to be replaced as Celtic’s first choice goalkeeper at some point, and it looks like the Hoops’ backroom team is doing some important scouting on possible replacements.
