Manchester City 24-year-old player set to miss the start of Premier League season 2024/25 as major reason was revealed
This summer, Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez will play in a second international event, which means he won’t have any time to rest.
After being named to Argentina’s Olympic team, Julian Alvarez will probably not be able to play for Manchester City at the start of the Premier League season.
Two of Javier Mascherano’s three overage players will be in his Paris group. Mascherano, who won the World Cup and the Treble, wants to add another title to his collection. After the Copa America, the City forward asked to be included in the squad, and the Blues didn’t stop him. When Pep Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona, he let a young Lionel Messi go and win gold.
Because Alvarez has another chance to play for his country, City will probably not have him for the first few weeks of the season. The Olympics’ football season ends on August 9, one week before City plays United in the Community Shield and one day before they play Chelsea in the Premier League. The Copa America ends on July 14.
According to FIFPro, all players should have three weeks off between seasons in the summer. However, Guardiola and the City medical team like to give their stars longer if they can because they know how busy their schedules will be. The Blues will play a bigger version of the Champions League and the Club World Cup over the next twelve months.
