Scottish professional football manager reveals the name of Celtic F.C best player last season 2023/24
For the first time in Scotland, the Celtic supporters were able to witness the legendary midfielder, Scott Brown, in a dugout during the friendly match against Ayr United.
The 1-1 draw, which was arranged to assist in the opening of the Championship club’s new stand, provided the Celtic junior, fringe, and first-team players with an opportunity to accumulate valuable minutes in their legs.
The Celtic hero who was “huge” for the Hoops gaffer last season was identified by Brown when queried about Rodgers’ possible return.
Celtic’s performance was enhanced by the contributions of Callum McGregor.
As we have already discussed, Reo Hatate acknowledged that the team encountered difficulties in adjusting to a new style of football as Rodgers endeavored to create his own identity for the club.
However, Brown acknowledges that he was confident in Rodgers’ ability to succeed, as he identified Callum McGregor as a “significant asset” in Paradise’s championship-winning season last year.
[BBC] Brown stated, “It is the standards that he [Rodgers] establishes, the expectations he has, and the level of detail that he provides to the players.”
“He has Callum [McGregor] present, who is a leader and has a prior understanding of his preferred style of play.” This has been an enormous assistance from him, and it is evident that their performance improved as the season progressed.
“It was evident that his return would be challenging; however, he has successfully navigated that minor tumult and demonstrated his capabilities in the end.”
“I was confident that Brendan would once again perform exceptionally well at Celtic.” You are aware of his character, his dedication to the club, and his exceptional work ethic. He has previously demonstrated these qualities.
Despite missing only three games of the league campaign last season due to injury, McGregor completed 90 minutes in 25 of Celtic’s 38 SPFL matches.
It was always going to be a significant challenge for any Celtic player to assume the role of Scott Brown, but there is no denying that McGregor has successfully assumed it.
McGregor is one of Celtic’s most decorated players in their history and is securely entrenched in the annals of Parkhead history, having won seven trophies out of nine, including captaining a treble-winning team.
