Talk of Adam Idah going to Celtic has been all over the news this week as Brendan Rodgers moves to buy the Irish striker. As he stepped up in big games for Celtic, Idah was a huge part of their wins in both the league and the Scottish Cup.

Last season, he scored nine goals in 19 games and helped Celtic win two big domestic titles. And who can forget his two-goal penalty debut against Hibs at Easter Road? Idah won over Celtic fans’ hearts by handling the pressure of that game and scored two goals against Rangers.

Rodgers then put the Republic of Ireland striker at the top of his shopping list. Adam Idah can take over for Kyogo at Celtic. Andy Walker had this to say about Celtic’s pursuit of Idah:

“I think he can help Celtic improve their reputation in Europe. I also think the 22-year-old can take Kyogo Furuhashi’s place on the club’s first team.”

“Yes, I think Idah can make a difference in Europe,” Walker told BBC Sportsound. Celtic will get him in the end, I think they will be able to work something out with Norwich.

“Remember how Brendan Rodgers talked about him when he first started working with him? He went on and on about how great he was, and you would have thought he was a star in the English Premier League based on how Rodgers talked about him.”

“I believe he wants to work with him, and I believe he’s the kind of player he wants to work with—that tall, muscular, and strong guy that’s very different from Kyogo, who has been the starting striker for a few years.”

“I think that if Celtic got Adam Idah, he might take over that role. Brendan Rodgers likes having players like that in his starting eleven.” Idah is a great player, but it would be very hard for him to replace Kyogo in the Celtic first team for good.

Rodgers definitely picked the Irish player over the Japanese striker to start some games. No one will ever forget how he played against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park to win the title.
