Celtic captain Calum McGregor expresses his desire for Kyogo Furuhashi to continue his tenure with the club.
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – On Wednesday, Celtic captain Calum McGregor expressed his optimism that Kyogo Furuhashi would remain with the Scottish club, despite reports linking him to a transfer to Rennes in France.
Furuhashi, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday, played a pivotal role in assisting Celtic in advancing to the Champions League quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory against Young Boys. The Japanese forward had three goals invalidated during the match.
“He is an elite athlete,” McGregor stated. “Once more, one can observe his exceptional quality, his movement, and the manner in which he establishes the team’s tempo.” “We aspire to retain all of our talented players for as long as possible. Typically, when there is speculation regarding their future, it indicates that they have performed exceptionally well, which is a situation we also desire.”
“It stimulates discussions regarding Celtic and the players within our roster; therefore, I am confident that the club will exert every effort to retain him, as he is both an exceptional player and an outstanding individual.”
