Celtic FC player Kyogo Furuhashi break silence and speak out to say his feelings concerning the penalty denial after Livingston player Mikey Devlin obvious foul

With their 3-0 win over Livingston, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team is back on top of the Scottish Premiership. Next week, they will play the Ibrox Glasgow Derby.

The second half was much better than the first 45 minutes. Paulo Bernardo, Matt O’Riley, and Jamie Brandon all scored goals, and O’Riley scored an own goal.

Celtic huffed and puffed in the first half, and even though they had most of the ball, they never really posed a threat to Livingston.

They looked like a different team after halftime, though, and quickly beat David Martindale’s men to send three stands full of Hoops fans home happy. Whatever John Kennedy said to them in the locker room at halftime seemed to have worked.

But it was a controversial call in the first half that got most of the attention during the half-time review. Kyogo Furuhashi was clearly awarded a penalty, and Chris Sutton, Robert Snodgrass, and Kris Boyd got into a fight on Sky Sports.

Mikey Devlin’s tackle on the Celtic striker was seen as a stonewall penalty by Sutton and Snodgrass. Boyd, on the other hand, did what he always does and said that Kyogo was already on his way down before any contact was made.

But John Kennedy, the assistant manager for Celtic, had a different opinion. He talked about how Kyogo felt about the hit that VAR didn’t think was good enough to give the Hoops a penalty.

‘Adamant’ Kyogo There was talk.

There was clear touch on the Celtic striker’s knee, as seen on Sky Sports replays. Boyd thought it wasn’t enough to call a foul, but Kennedy said Kyogo thought otherwise.

Kennedy told Sky Sports, “I haven’t seen it back properly; I only saw it briefly at the time.” Again, I won’t know for sure until I see it, but Kyogo was sure at the time that there was some kind of touch.

“He put his body in front of me, but I don’t want that to be a talking point.”

“Their play was good, and they won 3-0.”

The Celtic fans were very angry about the ruling that VAR made that there wasn’t a penalty. We have to deal with these changes every week, and this is the last thing the national association needed after the week we had to deal with Brendan Rodgers’ SFA meeting.

The focus is still on the judges. Even more so since the SFA chose to put Don Robertson in charge of this week’s game against Livingston.

Thankfully, the technology used by the referees did not affect the outcome like it did at Tynecastle. However, there are still concerns about how inconsistently the rules are applied when this kind of choice needs to be made.
