Celtic winger has officially ruled out of the Scotland squad ahead against Portugal at Hampden

Celtic player James Forrest has been officially kicked off of the Scotland team for tomorrow night’s game at Hampden against Portugal.

The wide player wasn’t even on the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Croatia, as he was said to have missed the last training session before the game in Zagreb.

This is the second time this season that Forrest has pulled out of a Scotland squad because of a problem.

The 33-year-old quickly got better for Celtic the last time, and that will be their top goal again with a tough stretch of seven games in 21 days coming up.

Even though Nicolas Kuhn has been playing great this season, Brendan Rodgers really likes Forrest’s experience and ability to attack.

This attacker was brought in from the cold near the end of last season and made a big difference as the Bhoys won a home double.

In the first seven games of the season, he has played seven times and added three goals.

Forrest isn’t the fastest or most agile of Celtic’s wingers, but he’s still a good choice who has shown he can play for the Hoops.

He will definitely play a part for the Bhoys over the next few weeks as they try to make progress in the Scottish Premiership, the League Cup, and the Champions League if he is healthy.
