Derek McInnes is upset and angry that some Celtic fans were loud and disruptive during the minute of silence at Rugby Park on Remembrance Sunday.

Soon after the somber moment of reflection began, chants and the raising of a controversial pro-Palestine banner broke the silence. McInnes not only said that the referees’ calls during Kilmarnock’s 2-0 loss to the defending champions were wrong, but he also said that the salute before the game was disrespectful.

"disrespectful and disheartening" - Kilmarnock F.C. coach Derek McInnes breaks silence and slams and criticizes Celtic fans for acting "rudely" during the minute of reserved silence on Remembrance Sunday.

“It was Celtic who decided when the minute of silence should end,” McInnes said in his speech. I thought this choice was completely unacceptable and rude. It’s disappointing that we couldn’t show even a small amount of respect for such a significant event for one minute.

Sharing his thoughts on the issue, Brendan Rodgers, manager of Celtic, said, “There should be a minute of silence for the whole thing.” It is a time to think, come together, and remember.

There may be problems at this time of year, but we need to come together to remember and respect those who have given their lives. During times like these, we need to show that we stand together and care.
