“Earlier than expected” – Rocco Vata sends out a farewell message to Celtic F.C and it’s fans after his move to Watford

After announcing his move to Watford in the English Championship, winger Rocco Vata wrote a goodbye message to Celtic on Instagram.

Vata’s first game for Celtic was in December 2022, when Ange Postecoglou was manager. But there was a lot of talk about his long-term future with the club in the months and years that followed.

At first, there were great hopes that he would be the next Academy player to make the jump to the senior team, but he only played six times as a substitute.

Even though the Republic of Ireland youth player was offered a contract, he didn’t sign with the Bhoys, and his deal ended at the end of last season.

A lot of clubs from all over Europe wanted to sign him, but he chose Watford because they gave him the best chance to keep improving his football skills.

In an Instagram Stories post, the teen wrote, “My 12 years at Celtic finally ending earlier than planned.”

“I want to thank everyone who has worked with me over the years for making me the player and person I am now.” And the people who cheered me on and believed in me. I hope the best for Celtic next year.

The way the message was written makes it sound like he thought he would have been at the Bhoys for longer, even though he chose to leave.

It’s not clear why he didn’t sign a new deal or what really caused him to leave.

His time at Watford will be interesting to keep an eye on. It might be a good move for him if he ends up playing every week in the Championship.

Hope to hear more from the kid in the next few weeks about why he’s making this job move. As always, we wish him the best of luck with his transfer.
